The game against Schalke would be during "Osterwiese", might be a bit more complicated to get a hotel. But "Osterwiese" ends at the 7th of April.
Apart from that I don't know about any big events in April next year so far.

I really don't think that the 'Osterwiese' will have great effects on the hotels in Bremen. I mean 'Freimarkt' OK, but I don't think that people actually travel to Bremen to visit the boring Osterwiese. :grinsen:

We talk to Jermaine on Norderney about the 2nd IWF and for him and Werder is the Fürth-game the best choice (regarding tickets and so).

@Tasja - :tnx:

The Fürth game is fine with me. I have to admit that I don't care that much about the opponent - I just look forward to the entire weekend, to seeing you all and to hopefully having more :beer: and fun than last time with my bad cold...

Due to Ryanair not flying to Bremen from Edinburgh Nov 1 - March 31st, any game within those dates would probably seriously restrict our numbers due to the Edinburgh-London-Bremen (& back again) route. However, those not willing/able to make the IWF 2013 w/e could just make another trip themselves in the April-Oct period.

For IWF that would leave Schalke or Wolfsburg of the already mentioned games, or Hoffenheim and Frankfurt in May, if we want as many scottish fans as possible to attend

I'll start to speak to the guys & get their opinions but we'll just go with whatever gets decided from the masses for IWF w/e 2013. Is May too late for lots of ticket availability? (especially with Werder challenging for the title :daumen:) As I said earlier, those of us who don't make it will just pick another game in the summer months.

@killie: Maybe you guys shouldn't look for a direct flight to Bremen, airports in Hamburg, Luebeck, Hanover are in range, too. What does a flight from E'burgh to Bremen and back normally cost?

And I'm sure that there are some more airports: Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, maybe even Berlin, Cologne or Halle/Leipzig. Then cheap group tickets for the trains - done.
Once again I'm thinking about the whole group rather than just me as an individual. The older ones are put off by the extra flight or train travel. The hard core "even if it means getting scammed by Hertz" will do just about anything to get there :schal:

:D Just provide your oldies with enough valerian or sleeping pills. Beer might work as well. Train ride from Hamburg is about an hour, from Luebeck 90 mins, same for Hanover.

What about Düsseldorf-Weeze? But that would still be around 6 1/2 hours by train to Bremen, at least without taking IC or ICE.

Hey Guys it's me Jermaine,

I hope everything is fine with you. I've read the problem we have with our scots but I guess this is a problem we can handle.

At first I'd suggest the game against Greuther Fürth but we could also focus a match in april or may.

In april we'll have a match against wolfsburg. This would include the weekend between 19th and 21st April.

In May we'll have a match against Hoffenheim. This would include the weekend between 3rd and 05th May.

I would say it's up to you :) We should make a vote on this page and you can choose till end of august.

So what do you guys think? Is this a good Idea or do you prefer the match against Greuther Fürth?

@jermaine
I definitely cannot make the 3-5th May as i am in Sheffield for the snooker semi finals that weekend.
Also, 19-21 April is not good as it is Oxford Utds last home match of the season.
For me, it would need to be Greuther Fuerth game :schal::daumen::bier::tnx:
