I had high hopes for Elia when he joined (remembered him fondly for scoring against Ceptic) but have been disappointed. The first year at new team can be difficult - new team mates, new league etc - so this season could be important for him.

Well at least Füllkrug is out on loan, not permanently transfered.

I completely understand and even could extend the given list with a few names. Özil, Naldo, Micoud, Diego, Niemeyer ...

Doesn't his contract finish next summer? Personally speaking, I'm not too optimistic, I don't think he'll be renewing...
I don't get it. Those statements are contradictory.
I think Hunt is still a good player, but he's not being used correctly by Dutt imo. Last year, he was one of our top players because, as we would say in Italian, he was playing as a "Regista" - a deep lying playmaker. He went in deep in the midfield, distributed the ball nicely (to be fair, he did have De Bruyne, Elia, Junuzovic and Arnautovic to thank, because they were always happy to recieve the ball) and sometimes created chances for himself.
This year, he's being used as a striker/winger, and he's simply not fast or technical enough to be a winger nor lethal enough to be a striker.

At the moment he does have all arguments against him. Not even our two victories were convincing...

Yeah, I wasn't really happy with the victories against Braunschweig and Augsburg either.
Our midfield and attack aren't linked up at all, but it's not really a surprise. I mean, Petersen as a right winger? As things stand, I would just give Yildirim and some other youngsters (maybe Wurtz, it's a shame Füllkrug isn't around...) a chance in the first XI. They can't really perform worse than Petersen and Hunt, among others, up till now.
Wurtz was loaned to Paderborn two weeks ago. Means we only have Petersen for now.
